About a week after welcoming our fourth baby, I managed to lure my partner Alison out on what I said was a simple breakfast date. What she didn’t know was that I had a whole stroll through the Manurewa Botanical Gardens secretly planned, all in the name of inspiration for my next painting.
We didn’t make it very far before she needed a rest (understandably). That’s when the guilt kicked in, and I decided to cut our grand garden adventure short.
But I still managed to charm her into an impromptu photo shoot amid the lush greenery—and that's when I captured the camomile flower bed that later inspired this painting.
